:Pushing, stemming instead of pulling
:Arete climbs almost always are exposed, committing, and exhilarating. Before starting out, consider which side of the edge youll predominantly be climbing on. Heel, toe, and calf hooks are invaluable aids to maintain balance, limit the "hinge" effect, and unweight your arm. Constantly look and feel around the corner for hidden holds. If there are no holds between some blank sections, you may consider slapping technique. Slappling is a dynamic maneuver, and you must make use of the dead point --- that millisecond when your body is weightless. Preceding any slap, you must dynamically hoist your torso up and slight in. At the dead point, a hand flashes up for the hold. Perfect timing is the key.
